Tough one today guys. But God is good! He is the source of our comfort. My husband's second round of chemo; and it was "more" than the first. The few side effects he experienced with the first round were amplified this time. He's been sleeping most of the day thank goodness.
I have been keeping busy with our grandsons-they're really into basketball right now and they are pretty good too! I guess YouTube is good for something, huh? No, but seriously it's been helpful to me too. It can be inspiring.
Football starts for them this Sunday and we will be shopping for cleats tomorrow. Although one has got "water on the knee", he's determined to start his workouts. They are my saving grace, I tell ya.

Hello my loves!! Long day for me today. I had to force myself to turn off the laptop or was it the television, at about 3:30 this morning! I'm not sure if it was the Cherry Dr Pepper or Menopause..maybe I'm just nosy. I have been a little obsessed with Pinterest lately, Have you checked it out?!
Had to get up a little early to accompany my husband to his chemo appointment. If any of you are familiar with this, then you know how long the day can be. I love being with my husband and would be no place else. We are coming up on 29 years y'all! God is awesome!

Morning everyone! I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Holiday weekend! I absolutely love celebrating Resurrection Day..But I thank God more than that one day for sending His son to save our souls.
Let's see...fabulous moments for me...ummm...well I fell on the steps into my living room and twisted my ankle or foot. Not much pain the next day but it still hurts as does my tooth. That woke me about 3am this morning! If I could have knocked myself out; I really would have. The logistics of that idea truly crossed my mind!
I'm not sure but I will seriously check out TMJ. Notice I consistently clench my jaws. Knew I gritted my teeth during the night but clenching in the daytime? Wow!! Does anyone out there have this and how are you dealing with it? Will definitely talk to my doc about this along with a new mole I've discovered. There will also be futher discussion about the recent weight gain. Although I'm probably not being honest about it being recent. Funny thing is...I believed I was doing okay at maintaining until I did something really truly dimwitted....I got on a scale; ok, not just any scale-the one at the doctor's office during my husband's appointment! LOL..How's that for stupid? Now, he didn't see the amount but the tears dripping down my face gave away the result. He said "it's ok, we'll just start walking, and we'll walk together". Is it any wonder why we've been married almost 29 years?! That's another post for another time.
Being 50+ is a blessing and takes a lot more maintenance. But you know what? I am up for the challenge, I plan on being around for at least..oh..another 40 or so more. Got much more living to do, lot more to see and a lot more to tell you guys about!

O.K...I know I said I wouldn't post til tomorrow but I gotta tell you guys about how my day got started, such that it did..First, I woke up, thank the Lord! Next...well now remember, I was up til 4:30 this morning....and I got up at 7:30! Helped get my grandsons off to school then went straight to teach my class. I teach arts and crafts to the visually impaired twice a month and I call Bingo there once a month-it's really a blast! Aaanyway, I pick up a dozen donuts before each class to go with their coffee and tea. Apparently I made a change to the menu, because when I walked into Dunkin Donuts this morning I was greeted rather boisterously and responded in kind by requesting "a dozen eggs!!" The girl said "a dozen glazed?" To which I further replied "no, thank you, don't want a dozen glazed OR the dozen eggs I requested either". We both had quite a chuckle from that exchange. Thenthe other cashier, a 19 or 20-something-yr-old, gave me that "awww" look and completed my order. After leaving with my tail between my legs, I realized I had to go BACK into that store and retrieve my car keys! So much for a respectful retreat. How's that for a day-starter?!!
Tell me a story about a time when your brain was mush and you weren't able to keep that to yourself...I'd love to hear them! LOL
50Plus & Fabulous...It's 2am and I'm not feeling too fabulous at the moment. But I challenged myself(and my baby sister) that I would at least get some info on blogging. And here I am posting my first entry!
Well, my name is Sheila and I am actually 52 now. Married almost 29 years to a really good man-well he's a good person who happens to be a man. We have a daughter who blessed us with 11 yr-old twin grandsons. You know...I mean they are eleven now. More on all of that later. At present I am a housewife. More on that later too.
And you know-I do feel a bit fab-I just started a blog you guys! Woohoo! Been thinking about taking this leap for a little while now but kept talking myself out of it because I couldn't for the life of me believe that anyone would want to read what I have to say. But you know what? The plunge wasn't too deep, a little chilly, but not too deep.
My plans include sharing stuff from my life with you. Hopefully hearing about yours too and seeing what we come up with-the good and the not-so-good, but it will all be fabulous! I promise, I won't use the word fabulous more than...oh..once or twice or a few times a post? I better get out my thesaurus then, huh?
So let's get this party started. Hang with me, invite your friends, stay tuned and enjoy. WE are gonna do this right! WE are gonna learn and grow with one another. Come back tomorrow-which I guess technically means Wednesday. Wow this is gonna be a blast..fun? cool? a winner? enlightening? How about-all of the above?
Got some pretty cool stuff to share with you so really-stay tuned and I'll tell you about the online contest I just won!
I want to leave you with this---we are blessed to wake up each morning, to survive another moment, another day. Let's leave a bit of ourselves with someone today-a positive bit! A fabulous bit!!
